Technical Information

The ergonomic frame designs ensure a comfortable and secure fit with maximum protection from glare. We use acrylic lenses because they provide the best balance of optical performance and strength. Each pair comes complete with a free rigid case, a microfibre cleaning cloth and a black patent hand bag pouch to help you protect your purchase.

Frames

Our plastic frames are injection moulded from tough and durable acrylic and are hand polished to perfection. All hinges are metal to ensure smooth, consistent operation and a longer life.

Our metal frames are made from high-grade nickel-silver for durability and strength. The premium plating process enhances their look giving a tough high quality finish not normally associated with with glasses in this price range. They are hand polished and coated with an epoxy varnish to ensure no rust spotting thus keeping them looking good for longer. The manufacturing process ensures the frames hold their shape, even at the welds, to give excellent all round alignment.

And finally the temples on all products are hand tensioned to further enhance their quality.

Acrylic Lenses

Acrylic lenses have high transmissivity ratings and show very little hazing thus they provide distortion free optical performance giving excellent clarity of vision. Our 2mm thick lenses are resistant to light impact and will not suffer from UV induced discolouration in normal use. They comply with the latest European Directive 89/686/EEC in accordance with Standard EN 1836:2005 and absorb 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays whilst maintaining high levels of visible contrast.

All smoke lenses are UV filter category 3 suitable for bright sunlight, driving and general purpose wear. Brown lenses are UV filter category 2 suitable for sunny weather and driving. Light tinted lenses are UV filter category 1 for average sunlight and fashion wear.
